UO release - EUGENE, Ore. – The Oregon football team earned the highest preseason ranking in program history on Monday, coming in at No. 2 in the opening Associated Press top-25 poll of 2026.  The Ducks also debuted at No. 2 in the preseason US LBM Coaches Poll released earlier this month.  Oregon's previous highest preseason AP ranking was No. 3, achieved in 2024, 2014, 2013 and 2011. The Ducks have now opened in the AP top 10 in each of the last three seasons, after coming in at No. 7 in the 2025 preseason poll.  This is the first time since 2011-15 that Oregon has opened in the top 10 in three or more consecutive seasons. The Ducks have now been in the AP preseason top 25 in each of the last nine seasons.  Oregon has compiled a stellar 48-8 record in four seasons under head coach Dan Lanning, reaching double-digit wins each year. The Ducks have tied the program record with 13 wins in each of the last two seasons, reaching the College Football Playoff Quarterfinal in 2024 before advancing to the CFP Semifinal in 2025.  The Ducks open the 2026 season at home against Boise State on Saturday, Sept. 5 (12:30 p.m. PT, CBS).
