The Clackamas County Medical Examiner’s Office determined Merilan’s death was an accident.

Clackamas County sheriff’s officials have publicly identified the man who drowned in the Clackamas River in late July.

East Village Incident Update.

Officers responded to a call at Orenco Station Apartments after a man was seen on the roof attempting to access a unit. The individual, Kevin Harris Burnett (DOB 06/19/84), believed a former partner still lived there.

Burnett, who appeared to be under the influence, was safely taken into custody and lodged on a felony warrant for burglary out of Washington County. Additional charges may be pending as the investigation continues (Case #25-14208).

We’re grateful for the community’s vigilance and patience as our team worked to resolve the situation safely.
