MALE ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER IN THE SECOND DEGREE | On Saturday, April 12th, just before 4:45 a.m., officers responded to a reported shooting in the parking lot of Fred Meyer, near SE Tualatin Valley Highway and SE Century Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers located the victim and immediately began life-saving measures. They quickly learned that the suspect vehicle was described as a red pickup truck, which had left the scene. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive.  
  
Around 8:10 a.m., officers responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle matching the suspect description, a red pickup truck with a broken window and deflated tire located in the Sunset Esplanade. Officers found the truck unoccupied. Through the investigation, it was later determined the driver was 22-year-old Heriberto Tapia-Naranjo. Tapia-Naranjo was located and arrested for Attempted Murder in the Second Degree, Assault in the Second Degree, and Unlawful Use of a Weapon.

Deputy Hearn reassigned to Patrol after graduating from the Corrections Academy and working in the Lane County Jail for several years. She brings a wealth of experience from interacting with adults in custody at the jail. Deputy Hearn enjoys getting out into the community and serving in the unique way patrol allows, especially helping people on their worst days.
