LAST CHANCE FOR SUMMER READING

Summer Reading is coming to an end! It feels like summer just started but here it is, already August! That means that our summer reading program is getting ready to wrap up. The last day to turn in your completed reading logs will be on Monday, August 17 so get to reading and then turn your logs into the front desk to be entered into the drawing for our fabulous prizes. The 2026 Splish Splash Summer Bash celebrating the end of the Kids Summer Reading Party is also right around the corner. Join us on Saturday, August 15 from 2:30-4:30 p.m. at the Mingus Park Pool. The whole family is invited for free pizza, books, and fun. Children under 6 must be accompanied by an adult in the pool and adults must be accompanied by a young person in their life who is under 18.

Also, due to popular demand, Community Yoga is back! Our August classes will be on Friday, August 14 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. and on Thursday, August 27 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. These classes are perfect for total beginners and experienced practitioners who enjoy taking it slowly. They will be a blend of yoga asana, philosophy, and breath and focus on the foundational basics to gently move your body while using your breath to focus your mind. There will be props available for use. So, grab your mat and your water and come to the Library to help your mind and body relax and unwind after a tough week!
