Lane County Sheriff’s deputies who are hired from another police agency enter the field training and evaluation process (FTEP). They also complete remote training with Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.  
   
Congratulations to Deputy Nell for recently completing patrol FTEP!  
   
Deputy Nell joined LCSO after working several years in law enforcement. He spent four years working as an Oregon Department of Corrections officer, promoting to sergeant during his time there. He then worked for the Pendleton Police Department for two and a half years on patrol. He brings a wealth of experience, and says he enjoys getting out into the rural areas of the county, having grown up in the area.
