Description
Everywhere Reynolds High School senior Giselle Bautista turned during a rainy Thursday in mid-May, there were reminders that her time at the sprawling high school in Troutdale was ticking away.
A neatly lettered sign on her AP Government teacher’s bulletin board counted down 14 more days until the end of school. An envelope, hand-delivered to her during her last class of the day, bore an invitation to an end-of-year family celebration for Latino seniors, who make up about half of the class.
