HIT AND RUN DRIVER ARRESTED FOR DUII | On September 27th at 4:28 PM, a black Mercedes sedan driven by a 42-year-old female, collided with another vehicle. The Mercedes fled from the crash at a high rate of speed, nearly colliding head on with an officer responding to an unrelated call in the area. The officer was subsequently flagged down by the victim of the hit and run and the officer promptly provided a description of the vehicle to other officers in the area. Two minutes later, the Mercedes was located by another officer traveling at a high rate of speed through a nearby neighborhood with a posted speed limit of 25 miles per hour. A traffic stop was conducted on the Mercedes and the driver was arrested for DUII. The driver refused to provide a breath sample and a warrant was issued to obtain the driver's blood sample for analysis. The driver was charged with DUII, Reckless Driving and two counts of Reckless Endangerment.
