Happy Holidays!

For each of the past seven years, a small group of private citizens have approached me and asked if the Curry County Sheriff Office could take on the responsibility of distributing some cash to families in the community who might need a boost over the holiday season. Their rationale, rightfully so, is that a private citizen wouldn’t know the community as well as the Sheriff Office. The Sheriff Office supports the community and wants the public to know that these funds do not come from our budget or general fund in any way, shape, or form.

We have gladly taken on their request, gone into our community, and through last year have been able to help deliver these private funds for the benefit of nearly 50 recipients and their families. For the past seven years, the total gifted through 2023 has been $28,500 to these families.

There are no tax dollars or public funding in any way, shape, or form that is part of this program that is done entirely in the spirit of the season. The only source is cash donated for this specific giving program by these private individuals who wish to remain anonymous.

The funds go directly to each recipient with no strings attached.

Your Curry County Sheriff Office is here to help and serve people all year long, and during the holiday season it is an honor to be able to help in this small way.
