A sense of safety was shattered for multiple women at Council Crest Park on April 9, 2026, when a man chased and inappropriately touched many of them. The Southwest Portland space is seen here in a file photo.

A 31-year-old man who targeted more than half a dozen women by groping or chasing them through one of Portland’s most iconic parks faced a reckoning when the women — a “sisterhood” of strangers, according to one victim — surrounded the man, stopping him in his tracks.
