While voters elected many of the same candidates to state and local positions, Oregonians need to see a significant change from the status quo, the editorial board writes. Elected leaders must show political courage and a commitment to measurably improving the life of Oregonians.

In last week’s elections, voters across the country delivered a resounding rebuke of both a corrupt presidential administration and a complacent Congress that allowed abuses to persist. Americans ousted Republicans who had been in charge for decades in a landslide that stretched from coast-to-coast. The results up and down the ballot reflected communities ready to embrace sweeping change.
