🚨Deputies Arrest 40-Year-Old for Assault on a Minor🚨

On March 26, 2025, at approximately 5:07 PM, Deputy Churchill and Sergeant Slater responded to a reported assault of a minor in the Charleston Harbor area. Upon arrival, Deputy Churchill located the minor, who had fled from the suspect, Kiel Smith (40), and was found in a bathroom stall.

Following an investigation, Deputy Churchill established probable cause for Kiel’s arrest. Sergeant Slater located Kiel at the Seaport RV Park and detained him. Deputy Churchill then arrived at Sergeant Slater’s location, placed Kiel under arrest, and transported him to the Coos County Jail. Kiel was booked and charged with Domestic Assault 4 (Felony), Strangulation, and Menacing.
