Description

Prosecutors in Oregon have long opposed removing the crime of prostitution from state law for minors, although last year prosecutors in many counties reported zero arrests of juveniles. In this file photo, Portland police took a 14-year-old girl into custody and arrested the man found with her on 82nd Avenue on a variety of charges in 2008.

Children who are sold for sex in Oregon will continue to face the possibility of being charged with the crime of prostitution, after a Democratic House leader killed a proposal that would have ended criminal liability for kids.
