Dear Coquille Valley Elementary Parents,

This afternoon several students reported to the office that another student had an Air Soft Gun in his backpack. The backpack was quickly removed, and law enforcement was notified. The gun was confirmed to be a toy Air Soft Gun. I want to thank the students at Coquille Valley Elementary for their quick response and reporting what they saw. The Coquille School District takes all threats seriously. This matter will be investigated and appropriate consequences will be administered.
