Noureddine Dib of Beaverton was 42 at the time he shot another dad in the parking lot of the Islamic School of Portland. He's seen here during his April 2026 criminal trial.

A man who was shot in the groin by another dad while picking up his children in the parking lot of the Islamic School of Portland nearly two years ago filed a $50 million lawsuit this week against the school and its associated mosque — claiming that they didn’t take steps to stop the other dad from carrying a gun even though leaders knew that he did.

On July 28th at about 11pm, HPD officers received reports of a car crashing into a house near the intersection of SE Brookwood Avenue and SE Oakhurst Street. Officers responded and, with assistance from Hillsboro Fire & Rescue , made sure everyone was safe inside the home. Officers began a DUII investigation and arrested the driver, Christopher Quandee (27), for DUII. He provided a breath sample that showed his BAC to be 0.21%. Thankfully nobody was injured in this crash.
