COOS BAY ESTUARY MANAGEMENT PLAN (SBEMP) PHASE II UPDATE Learn How to Get Involved in Land Use Planning for Our Community What are CBEMP, the Phase II Update and Citizen Advisroy Committee? • CBEMP is a State of Oregon mandated land use plan for what development can occur along Coos Bay and its estuaries. The Plan requires extensive public input to achieve an optimal combination of environmental quality for the Bay and economic health for its surrounding communities. Phase II is the final stage before the CBEMP is reviewed and formally adopted by our city and county governments. • The CBEMP Citizen Advisory Committee provides many opportunities to become informed about and provide input into the Plan. There also is a technical advisory committee to provide up-to-date data and maps. The steering committee coordinates with local governments. All committees are open to public input.
