Description

Backers of an initiative that would redirect Portland Clean Energy Fund money to hiring more police have until July 6 to submit the requisite 40,437 valid signatures to the city to qualify for the ballot.

Proponents of a controversial Portland initiative that would redirect money from the city’s clean energy fund to increase police staffing have raised more than $600,000 to try to get the measure on the November ballot.
