•••Citizen Assists Sheriff’s Office in Making Arrest•••
On October 31, 2024, around 3:15 PM Sergeant A. Slater responded to 101 in Bunkerhill for multiple 911 calls indicating a man swinging a stick and threatening people near Wilson’s Market and 7-11.
When Sergeant Slater arrived, the man, identified as William Emery (34), approached him defiantly and aggressively. Sergeant Slater attempted to place Emery into custody but he fought this attempt. A citizen stopped and assisted Sergeant Slater during this fight. With the help from this gentleman Sergeant Slater was able to place Emery in handcuffs and secure him in a patrol vehicle. None involved were injured during this incident.
Emery was transported to the Coos County Jail where he was booked and lodged for the crimes of Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest.
The Coos County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the unknown gentleman for his assistance in making this arrest. Your selflessness helped resolve an escalating event.
