History
Bus Jam Toy and Food Drive began in 2002 by South Coast Rotary Clubs and other community partners as a Food Drive to help with the local Food Pantry. The first year, Bus Jam was held at the Pony Village Mall with a single small bus in cold, rainy weather. In 2018, Bus Jam and South Coast Bykes for Tykes partnered to create an even larger event. Twenty-two years later, Bus Jam has grown to the largest toy and food drive on the Southern Oregon Coast, providing help to over 700 families and more than 1,000 children between the age of one day and 18 years old in Coos County and Reedsport. Bus Jam Toy and Food Drive collection is held on the first Saturday of December.
