At the February 3, 2026, Coos Bay City Council meeting, Councilor Troy Cribbins read the proclamation recognizing February 2026 as Black History Month. Following the reading, the City Council unanimously approved the proclamation, affirming the City of Coos Bay’s participation in the national observance and its commitment to recognizing the historical and ongoing contributions of African Americans to the community and the nation.
