BARRICADED SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER 7 HOUR STAND OFF | On March 22nd, 2025 a disgruntled ex-employee of a restaurant in the Tanasbourne area of Hillsboro threatened another employee using a sharp object. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. The following day, the suspect returned and created a disturbance at the location again. On March 24th, HPD Detectives located the suspect in a room at the Rodeway Inn near Highway 26 and Highway 217, in Washington County. The suspect fled into his room and barricaded the door upon police arrival. He refused to cooperate or surrender to arrest. Officers acquired a signed search warrant, and with the assistance of the Washington County Tactical Negotiations Team (TNT) and Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU), Christopher McRae (47) was arrested, without injury, after a 7 hour stand-off. His charges include Unlawful Use of Weapon, Menacing, Disorderly Conduct, and Harassment.
