AUTHOR TALK WITH BRENDAN O'MEARA AT THE COOS BAY LIBRARY Bay Area Fun Festival 2025 is right around the corner, and the Coos Bay Public Library (CBPL) is getting in on the fun! On September 20 from 2-4 p.m. award winning journalist and author of “The Front Runner: The Life of Steve Prefontaine,” Brendan O’Meara, will be coming to the Library to talk about how he wrote this amazing book on local runner Steve Prefontaine. Mr. O’Meara will be giving us an inside look at how he researches and plans the scenes in his book and will answer questions and answers from the audience. Copies of the book will be available to purchase from the CBPL Foundation at the event. After the Prefontaine Run on Saturday morning, come to the Library to hear about the life of this incredible athlete.
