Dear Eric: My husband and I often go to an off-leash park near our home. There is one woman who regularly frequents the small dog area with her little doggo. We do not know her well, but we are polite and friendly.

This annual Challenge of the Heroes event brings together local first responders in a friendly competition to raise funds for the Mercy Foundation – UP2USNow Child Abuse Prevention Coalition. Guests can enjoy a meal at one of their favorite restaurants while being served by local heroes, with the goal of collecting tips and donations to support programs that protect and serve the children of Douglas County. Come out, enjoy great food, and help us make a difference. Competing with heart; united for children.
