A Spotlight on The Springs Satellite: Where Music & Service Meet

District Governor Chris Waugh recently had the pleasure of learning about the unique Rotary Satellite Club at The Springs, which holds its fellowship at Greer Gardens in Eugene.

As District 5110's very first satellite club, this group holds a special distinction. Remarkably, they launched just before the COVID-19 pandemic and successfully grew their membership throughout it—a true testament to their fellowship.

Their meetings have a wonderful tradition: they begin with song, accompanied by Peggy Malcom on the piano.

Key members like Jay & Mary O'Leary and Sally & Dick Briggs (long-time Southtowne Rotarians) are pillars of the group. They run an annual auction that raises over $12,000 for scholarships, some of which support The Springs employees in pursuing further education, with strong personal connections to the recipients.

This Satellite Club is a beautiful example of Rotary fellowship and service, perfectly tailored to its community.
