17 ARRESTED DURING RETAIL THEFT BLITZ | On October 9th, HPD conducted a retail theft blitz operation in partnership with loss prevention staff from local retailers. The operation resulted in 17 arrests (including 4 individuals with outstanding warrants), with 112 items recovered. The stolen items did not include food, but consisted of trading cards, fragrances, cosmetics, clothing, electronics, and alcohol. Those arrested (listed below) include several individuals suspected of involvement in organized retail theft.   
  
ASHLEY INMAN - Theft in the first degree (felony)  
GRISEL MAZZA – Theft in the first degree (felony), Possession of burglary tools, arrest warrant   
MATTHEW WAGNER – Theft in the second degree, Possession of a controlled substance, arrest warrant  
SIRIN BREMER – Theft in the second degree   
MICHAEL HUDDLESTON – Theft in the second degree, Possession of a restricted weapon, arrest warrant   
RICARDO BUTLER – Theft in the third degree   
ROBERT BRAY – Theft in the third degree, Criminal mischief in the first degree (felony)       
BRETT BUTLER – Theft in the third degree, Possession of a controlled substance, arrest warrant   
ALLEN MILLS – Theft in the second degree  
BRADLEY ASHBY – Theft in the second degree, Possession of a controlled substance   
GAVIN KIRK - Theft in the second degree  
CATHERINE CRUZ - Theft in the third degree  
SAMANTHA YOUNGBLOOD – Theft in the third degree  
  
Four juveniles were released to their parents.   
  
This operation was conducted in partnership with the Washington County District Attorney’s Office and was funded by Oregon’s Organized Retail Theft Grant Program.   
  
The funding is used to enhance efforts to investigate, prosecute, and stop shoplifters and organized retail theft crews from targeting businesses in Washington County. The money awarded allows law enforcement and prosecutors to engage in more joint retail theft missions, and allows investigators to focus more resources on criminal fencing operations. Grant funding is also distributed to eligible small and medium-sized retailers to support a retailer security camera upgrade program.
