City of North Bend release - North Bend Chief of Police Cal Mitts recognized Sergeant Jake Hult for ten years of service with the North Bend Police Department, praising Hult as “a very critical piece of the police department” whose leadership has strengthened officer training and day-to-day operations. Chief Mitts highlighted Hult’s role as the department’s Training Sergeant, who oversees the Field Training Program for new recruits before and after they attend the academy. He also credited Hult with coordinating patrol scheduling, serving as a field trainer himself, and earning steady respect from community members, fellow officers, and supervisors alike. “It’s not always an easy jump coming from patrol officer to the sergeant’s position, but he has made it look very easy,” Chief Mitts said, expressing appreciation for Hult’s work and acknowledging the support of Hult’s family, including his wife. Reflecting on the milestone, Sgt. Hult said the decade has gone by quickly. “Time flies in a job like this,” he noted, adding that he feels fortunate to work with a professional team and is looking forward to the next 10 years. He said he sees great things ahead for the North Bend Police Department and ongoing positive changes for the department and community. The City of North Bend extends its congratulations and gratitude to Sgt. Hult for his dedication and distinguished service.
