Description

A Yamhill County deputy shot someone suspected of stabbing two people in Sheridan on Monday night. The suspect died, according to Sgt. Brian Hagen of the Newberg-Dundee Police Department, which is investigating the incident.

The Yamhill County Sheriff’s Office was called just before 7 p.m. to the report of a stabbing in the 900 block of Southeast Sheridan Road.

A deputy arriving at the scene found two stabbing victims and a suspect holding a knife, Hagen said.

The deputy shot the suspect, who died. The suspect’s name has not been released.

One of the stabbing victims was taken by LifeFlight to a hospital; the other stabbing victim was taken by ambulance.

Police have not released their identities or any details on the extent of their injuries.

The Yamhill County Major Crimes Team is assisting with the investigation.
