The Brewers threw a party in Milwaukee on Friday night, and their fans were ready for it. Tailgaters showed up 10 hours before first pitch for the city’s first World Series game since 1982. Robin Yount threw out the ceremonial first pitch in Bob Uecker’s sport coat. The Brewers then did what they’ve done all October: hit just enough and pitched well enough to win. Christian Yelich, playing in his first career World Series game, tripled home Jackson Chourio in the first inning. Jacob Misiorowski gave Milwaukee five strong innings, William Contreras threw out two Rays trying to steal, and Trevor Megill survived a ninth inning that needed an extra out after a game-ending double play was overturned on review. Milwaukee won 3-2 and leads the series 1-0.
