Yorlenys Zambrano-Contreras was in the front passenger seat of this red Toyota Tacoma when she was shot in the chest by a Border Patrol officer during a sudden immigration stop in the parking lot of a medical office building on Jan.8. The driver, shot in the arm, sped to an apartment complex on Northeast 146th Avenue where he called 911.

The woman shot in the chest by a Border Patrol officer in Portland on Thursday pleaded guilty to entering the U.S. illegally in 2023 and was sentenced to a year of probation.
