Adewale Agboola co-founded The Downbeat. With a background in visual arts, he did all of the brand's photography.Co-owners Agboola and Coleman met through mutual friends in Minneapolis. His father toured internationally as a drummer for B.B. King and his grandfather was an established R&B performer. Coleman's father, Tony Coleman, has a hand in the bar's live music programming.
