On Friday at 2:48 a.m. a winter weather advisory was released by the National Weather Service in effect until Saturday at 5 a.m. for Siskiyou Mountains and Southern Oregon Cascades.
"Snow expected, could be heavy at times. Snow accumulations of 8 to 16 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph," can be anticipated according to the weather service. "Snowfall rates generally one half inch per hour or less today, but could reach 1 inch per hour at times between 5 pm PDT this evening and 5 am PDT Saturday morning."
