On Thursday at 2:47 a.m. a winter weather advisory was issued by the National Weather Service valid from noon until Friday 2 p.m. for South Central Oregon Cascades and Siskiyou Mountains and Southern Oregon Cascades.
The weather service adds, "Snow expected above 5000 feet. Total snow accumulations of 5 to 15 inches. Snow levels will initially be at 6000 to 6500 feet this afternoon into the evening, but decrease to 5000 feet accompanying the highest snowfall rates from around 2 a.m. Early Friday morning into Friday afternoon."
