On Wednesday at 6:12 a.m. the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory in effect until 4 p.m. for Cascades of Marion and Linn counties and Cascades of Lane County.
"Total snow accumulations 6 to 10 inches, with 1 to 2 inches possible down to 3000 feet. Accumulations of a foot or more are possible on the higher peaks and ridges above 5000 feet," says the weather service. "Snowfall accumulation will vary based on elevation and exposure to wind, with the highest snow amounts expected above 5500 feet."
