At 1:21 a.m. on Thursday, the National Weather Service issued a winter weather advisory valid from 5 p.m. until Friday 11 a.m. for South Central Oregon Cascades.
"Snow expected above 4500 feet in the high central Cascades in Klamath, Jackson and Douglas counties. Total snow accumulations 8 to 15 inches, except locally higher amounts up to 20 inches near Crater Lake. Winds gusting 30 to 50 mph over exposed areas," says the weather service. "Snow levels will lower from 5500 feet early this evening down to 4000 to 4500 feet Friday morning."
