The National Weather Service issued a winter storm warning at 2:22 a.m. on Wednesday valid from 2 p.m. until Friday 5 p.m. for Siskiyou Mountains and Southern Oregon Cascades.
"Heavy snow expected above 5000 ft. Total snow accumulations 1 to 2 feet. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph," states the weather service. "The heaviest snow is expected during the afternoons today and Thursday, when 1 inch per hour rates are likely (70-90% chance), especially on Thursday. There will be a relative lull in snow accumulations late Wednesday night while the region is between fronts."
