Description

A crowd gathered for the Southern Coos Health Foundation’s Quarterly Art Show opening reception, held Sunday, Jan. 12, from 2-4 p.m. in the hospital lobby, and featured live music by The Little Match Girls and refreshments, as well as shopping opportunities in the Gift Shop.

The winter Art Show, “Windows, Doors, and Walls,” turned out to be a popular theme! There are 142 pieces of art hung on the main hospital’s walls — the most that have ever been submitted in any of the past art shows. Most of the artwork is for sale. See the photo gallery below to view the artwork. If you are interested in any of the piece, please email or call Amy Moss Strong at [email protected] or 541-290-9989.

The show runs January 6 through March 29, 2025 and is available to view during regular main hospital lobby hours.

This show’s featured Artist is Jan Ayers. Her bio is below:

Jan Ayers is a Bandon-based writer and photographer. She was a dancer and poet in New York City in the 70s and 80s. She began taking photographs in the 90s while working in film and television as well as the music business. She has shown her work locally at the Coos Art Museum, the Bandon Library Gallery, the Community Art Gallery in both North Bend and Bandon, Bay Area Hospital, Southern Coos Hospital, Art by the Sea Gallery, and at Eden Hall at Southwestern Oregon Community College. She often collaborated with her late husband, sculptor Ken Ayers. Their last show was called “A New York City Conversation” in the Atrium of the Coos Art Museum in the fall of 2021.
