ODFW release - SALEM, Ore. – The Oregon Conservation and Recreation Fund (OCRF) is pleased to announce a Wildlife Crossing Infrastructure Grant opportunity. This program is seeking letters of interest to identify wildlife crossing projects in the state that can be implemented on a quick timeline. Interested parties are encouraged to fill out the Letter of Interest if they intend to apply for the OCRF's Wildlife Crossing Spring 2025 grant opportunity. Eligible projects include wildlife crossing infrastructure capital construction or improvement projects. It is important to note that projects must include construction or significant improvement of wildlife crossing infrastructure. Related expenses, such as engineering design and permitting, are allowable. However, standalone projects for feasibility studies, design, maintenance, or monitoring are not permitted. Additionally, funds must be expended within three years. Please submit the Letter of Interest before 11:59 p.m., Dec. 23, 2024. Funding for the Wildlife Crossing Infrastructure grant comes from the dedication of $5,000,000 in proceeds from a pending March 2025 sale of lottery bonds for deposit in the Oregon Conservation and Recreation Fund for wildlife mobility and habitat connectivity projects in priority connectivity areas. (HB 5030 § 2; SB 5506 § 184).
