Description

OHA release - There are air quality advisories in several counties in Oregon due to wildfire smoke.  Wildfire smoke is harmful, especially for children, pregnant people, and those with chronic medical conditions. Smoke can hurt your eyes, irritate your respiratory system, and worsen heart and lung diseases.  How to stay safe:  Stay indoors when possible.  Keep windows and doors closed.  Avoid strenuous outdoor activity.  Use high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filters for indoor ventilation systems or portable air purifiers if available.  Set your car's ventilation system to "recirculate" when driving.  Follow a management and treatment plan for people living with respiratory conditions like asthma.  Check the air quality index for your area.  Learn more and stay prepared:  • Monitor air quality in your area: oregonsmoke.org; • Protect your health during wildfires:  healthoregon.org/wildfires.  • Stay up to date on local emergency alerts: oralert.gov
