The Heceta Head Lighthouse, seen from a trail climbing to the crest of the headland at Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint on the central Oregon coast, has stopped shining its light on the Pacific Ocean.

The Heceta Head Lighthouse, long the brightest beacon on the Oregon coast, has gone dark, due to needed repairs to the complex gears that help rotate its antique lamp works.

At our March 23 City Council Meeting, we recognized grant recipient Tigard-Tualatin Family Resource Center. Tigard-Tualatin Family Resource Center is one of the local nonprofits that received funding through the Outside Agency Grant Program, which supports efforts to build a connected, equitable, and thriving community. The Tigard-Tualatin Family Resource Center supports children and families across the Tigard-Tualatin School District by helping meet basic needs and connecting them to community resources. Their work focuses on removing non-education-related barriers to student success and strengthening family stability. Through services such as resource navigation, basic needs support, and connections to programs like food assistance, housing support, and healthcare, the Center helps families access the tools they need to thrive.
