Americans traveling over the Labor Day holiday are expected to encounter the highest gasoline prices ever recorded for the holiday period, adding to what travel analysts say is shaping up to be one of the most expensive end-of-summer travel weekends in recent memory. AAA reported the national average price of regular gasoline surpassed $4 per gallon ahead of the holiday, a first for the Labor Day period.
