New Trail Blazers ownership group — Andrew and Peggy Cherng, Sheel Tyle and Tom Dundon — chat on the court after Portland’s 118-106 win over the New Orleans Pelicans in an NBA game at Moda Center on Thursday, April 2, 2026.

Tom Dundon is seated across from me at halftime of a Trail Blazers game against the Clippers in Inglewood, California. It is March 31, his first day as Portland’s owner. He wears a Hartford Whalers cap and gnaws at a strawberry. I ask him directly about the proposed $600 million public funding package to renovate Moda Center.
