Description

A state bill and a dueling Multnomah County proposal aim to ensure that fuel companies can cover cleanup costs immediately after a disaster, including at Portland's Critical Infrastructure hub in Northwest Portland.

Oregon legislators are advancing a bill to require owners and operators of bulk oil and liquid fuel terminals across the state to prove that they can pay for emergency response, cleanup and damage recovery in the wake of an earthquake or other natural disaster.
