Description

Tropical Storm Lala was expected to strengthen into a hurricane as it moved toward Hawaii, placing the Big Island under a hurricane warning and raising concerns about flooding, mudslides, dangerous surf and travel disruptions in one of the nation’s most visited states. The National Hurricane Center said Lala had maximum sustained winds near 60 mph late Thursday and was forecast to be near the Big Island on Saturday before passing south of the rest of the island chain later in the weekend, USA TODAY reported.
