It may have felt like the sky was falling when Mario Cristobal left Oregon for his alma mater in 2021. Four years later, that move may have worked out even better for the Ducks than it did for Cristobal.

MIAMI — Twenty-five miles south of Hard Rock Stadium, not far from Biscayne Bay, the head football coach’s office at the University of Miami overlooks the Greentree Practice Field in Coral Gables.
