The National Weather Service issued a report at 5:54 a.m. on Wednesday for patchy fog until 8 a.m. for North Oregon Coast Range Lowlands, Central Oregon Coast Range Lowlands, Lower Columbia River, Tualatin Valley, Inner Portland Metro, East Portland Metro, Outer Southeast Portland Metro, West Central Willamette Valley, East Central Willamette Valley, Benton County Lowlands, Linn County Lowlands and Lane County Lowlands.
βAreas of fog have developed early this morning, resulting in visibility around 1 mile or less across interior lowland portions of northwestern Oregon and southwestern Washington. Particularly fog-prone areas including sheltered Coast Range valleys, low spots within the Willamette Valley, and locations near rivers or other water sources are the most likely to experience visibility of 1/4 mile or less within dense fog. Drivers should slow down, use headlights, and leave plenty of following distance. Pedestrians and cyclists should use lights or reflective gear to improve visibility to drivers,β states the weather service.
