The National Weather Service released a special weather statement at 4:22 p.m. on Sunday until 8:30 p.m. for Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon and Foothills of the Northern Blue Mountains of Oregon.

"Dense fog and rain has reduced visibility to a quarter of a mile or less along section of Interstate 84 through the Dead Mans Pass east of Pendleton. Multiple weather stations and highway cameras confirm near zero visibility in spots. Motorist should slow down and use low beam headlights. These conditions will persist through the duration of the evening," states the weather service.
