A report was issued from the National Weather Service on Friday at 7:20 a.m. for freezing rain until 10 a.m. for Upper Hood River Valley.

"A shallow layer of below freezing temperatures in the Upper Hood River Valley is expected to persist for a couple hours this morning as light rainfall begins to increase. Light freezing rain is expected near the cities of Parkdale and Odell until 900-1000 PST. Light ice accumulations of 0.02-0.08 inches this morning may impact travel and make surfaces Slick. Slippery road conditions are difficult to see and can catch driver off guard, increasing the risk of car accidents; use caution," says the weather service.

The OCMA Board was particularly impressed with the enthusiasm, creativity and outreach demonstrated in Majkut’s leadership of Rogue Valley and Queens Symphony. The RVS orchestra serves three cities, each with a distinct demographic profile. The RVS has grown threefold under Majkut’s leadership and received national recognition for its ambitious programming. Majkut is passionate about youth education and understands the importance of building an audience for the future. OCMA has made building community through music a critical goal for its sustainability. Majkut’s enthusiasm will be an important component of OCMA growth in the coming years. The OCMA is planning its 47th annual Oregon Coast Music Festival set for July 12 – 26, 2025.
