Description
The National Weather Service issued a weather alert at 12:54 a.m. on Saturday for freezing rain until 10 a.m. for Upper Hood River Valley.
"Observations as of early Saturday morning show surface temperatures around 30 to 33 degrees F for locations above 1000 feet in the Upper Hood River Valley. Precipitation is gradually increasing this morning, leading to freezing rain above 1000 feet. Forecast ice accumulations are around a light glaze. This would be enough to lead to slick and hazardous roads. Slow down and use caution while traveling. Temperatures are forecast to rise above freezing sometime between 8-10 a.m. this morning. By that time, precipitation will begin to decrease across the area and any lingering freezing rain would transition to a cold rain. For locations below 1000 feet including Odell, temperatures in the mid to upper 30s will minimize the threat for freezing rain," states the weather service.
