Description

The West Linn Lions hosted the Sherwood Bowmen in a non-league football game on Friday, September 13, 2024 at West Linn High School. West Linn went on the win 35-0 over the Bowmen.

The reigning Class 6A Open champion West Linn Lions (1-0) travel to face the Sherwood Bowmen (1-0) in an early-season nonleague test on Friday night. West Linn is coming off an impressive 48-21 victory over visiting Kamehameha of Honolulu two weeks ago. Junior quarterback Sloan Baker threw four touchdown passes for the Lions. The Bowmen, who defeated Roosevelt 31-18 in their season opener, seek redemption after suffering two lopsided defeats to the Lions last season — a 35-0 regular season loss and a 49-14 elimination in the state quarterfinals. Sherwood features both junior Jake Leicht and senior Alex Zepeda at quarterback. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT on Friday, September 12 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
