Description
Two proposed rule changes that could have affected how transgender athletes compete in the state of Washington did not pass during a Monday meeting of the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association representative assembly.
The two proposals were ML/HS #7, which would limit participation in girls’ sports to those who were assigned female at birth and ML/HS #8, which would make the option for athletic programs to be offered separately for boys, girls and a third “open division” for all students interested.
