Warm-up ahead: Portland hits 71 Wednesday, record heat approaches this weekend

Does it seem early for shorts? Wednesday will warm into the low 70s, but the weekend could pack a nearly 90-degree day. Oregonian file photo.

Tuesday made it to 61 degrees (unofficially at Portland International Airport) under cloudy skies, but Wednesday brings a 10-degree jump with plenty of sunshine.
